Navy C4I Engineering Technologist

The selected applicant will apply knowledge of and experience with engineering principles and techniques to develop moderately complex drawings and evaluate technical reports for Naval Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) Systems to support Navy Modernization Program (NMP). Will create and analyze moderately complex C4I engineering drawings and documentation and work with new systems and equipment currently deployed aboard US naval surface vessels. Candidate should have a good understanding of various C4I systems used throughout the US Navy. Some background in computer networks or computer engineering is helpful. Must have competent writing and oral skills and work well in a team setting. Candidate is required to attend various coordination, ship integration, and site survey meetings.
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.

Required Skills and Education
Associate degree in an engineering or electronics discipline and 2 years of related experience in communications systems integration on either Surface Combatant or Amphibious class ships
Understanding of communications theory of operation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well in a team environment and independently
Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance
Preferred Skills and Education
US Navy Communications knowledge / background
US Navy Electronics Technician
Background in computer networks or computer engineering
Shipboard Integration experience
AutoCAD experience
Microsoft Office experience
Self-Motivated
