Position Title: Senior Staff Accountant
Position Location: Rutherford, CA
Position Summary:
Responsible for performing professional Accountant assignments, including providing specialized or general analysis in various accounting functions such as Cost Accounting and General Accounting. Following established procedures, performs detailed accounting assignments requiring a basic knowledge of accounting theory and principles. This position has primary responsibility for the development and tracking of all financial information related to the Mumm Napa and Kenwood Vineyards Direct to Consumer business. The position is also responsible for tracking harvest data to analyze trends and to help forecast grape requirements.
Responsible for adhering to all principles of Mumm Napa's ISO, QSE Management System
Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
Reconciliation of sales as reported through the retail and club accounting software systems to ensure the integrity of financial data. Post all retail and club activity to E1 for financial reporting. Post all DTC and A&P related accruals. Work with retail and club managers to accurately analyze and report DTC financial information.
Year/month end close responsibilities include reconciliation and/or analysis of various GL accounts, monthly posting of ledger activity, and monthly analysis of balance sheet activity.
Preparation of all monthly / quarterly sales and use tax returns.
Manage and report harvest data which includes crush reports and grape crush inquiry reports. Manage forecasting grape requirements model.
Coordinate / conduct physical inventory counts. Reconcile inventories at all retail locations; research and adjust for physical to GL differences.
Assist in year-end audit as required. Ad hoc reporting and analysis.
Nature & Scope:
Working relationship with Mumm Management as well as A/P and hospitality staff. Responsible for budget planning, business forecast, GL and Journal Entry account reconciliations. High level of confidentiality required.
Key requirements:
Education: BS/BA Degree in Business/Accounting required. .
Experience / Background:
Account reconciliation, month end close, inventory analysis, general ledger
Advanced Excel skills
Experience in ERP environments (JD Edwards preferred)
Winery experience desirable
Working Conditions:
General Office: Work is performed in a typical office environment. Limited demands for movement and lifting. Normal visual, hearing and language acuity required for correspondence and computer usage.
Travel: Minimal

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
