Position Title: Market Manager, Cognac (So. CA)
Position Location: Southern, CA
Position Summary:
Drives PR USA Cognac category sales performance, brand priorities, and initiatives in assigned markets through programming, distributor execution, and resource deployment. Ensures all key/brand KPIs are achieved.
Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
Individual:
Develops commercial plan for Cognac (Martell) brands across all channels throughout assigned market(s)
Ensures execution of market plan, including PRUSA strategic imperatives and local KPIs, in line with AOP on local geography / channel level
Owns resolution of execution-related issues in local geography / channel with minimal support from Regional Director
Manages and drives Cognac brand(s) agenda with geographic MMs and distributor teams (dedicated and full-book teams)
Identifies market level needs and opportunities to accelerate PRUSA Cognac category growth, communicating to market activation and brand activation teams
Owns relationships with small number of key accounts
Ensures execution of brand standards through rigorous training and oversight of distributor teams
Manages day-to-day channel planning/forecasting and performance tracking
Builds the brand by identifying and overseeing targeted sell-through activities (implementing national programs, limited local promotions)
Executes pricing strategy and recommends pricing tactics
Shared:
Manages and allocates local resources (A&P budgets, LMF budgets, agency manpower) against market priorities and plans (with Regional Director, Market Activation team)
Identifies, plans and executes account sell-through activities (with Market Activation team and Distributor Partners)
Develops local AOP and LE forecasts (with Division Finance and Region Director)

Nielsen/IRI share performance
Financial Targets:
Net Sales & CAAP targets for assigned market(s) and key accounts
Depletions (# of cases, total increase, target account improvements)
Revenue growth management objectives
Price support budget management
Organizational Context:
Reports solid line to RD
Works closely with MAD/MAMs, and FD/FMs
Frequently collaborates with geographic MMs and regional chain managers
Periodic communication with BAMs & Martell brand teams
Works regularly with distributor execution teams (dedicated & full-book organization)
Key Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience / Background: Position requires 5-7 years of previous sales management experience in a wine and spirit or consumer goods sales environment
Travel: 50% within So. CA market
